A re-edit of an atomic bomb documentary aired in 2015 to commemorate the 70th year after the end of World War II. Based on “Ishibumi”, which aired in 1969, readings of family memoirs give prominence to the lives of 321 Hiroshima Prefectural Middle School #2 first year students who, while serving as mobilized labor, became victims of the atomic bombing. A veteran of television documentaries, Kore-eda Hirokazu of Our Little Sister, directs while Hiroshima born actress Ayase Haruka serves as orator. Supplementing the original version, journalist Ikegami Akira also carries out interviews with families of the deceased as well as other linked individuals.
